Zacapa rum is matured in the mountains of Guatemala at an altitude of 2300m. Only in the "house on the clouds" does Zacapa rum achieve an exceptionally strong aroma, perfect color and rich taste. In a bottle of Zacapa 23Y rum, the youngest rum in the mix is at least 6 years old and the oldest is 23 years old. Each Zacapa bottle is decorated with a hand-made Petate ribbon, a 3,000-year-old royal Mayan custom. Today´s Petate ribbons are custom-made by Mayan descendants.
